In 2011, discussions began concerning putting Lebanon on the Teen Challenge international map.
With the support of Rev. Michel Matar, pastor of the Evangelical church of the Resurrection, we searched for the persons involved with the first attempt to establish Teen Challenge Lebanon back in the 1980s when Teen Challenge Lebanon's ministry stopped for various reasons.
We met one of the key Lebanese team members from that era, Bro. Michel Chalouhi, who carried this vision during the years of Lebanon's civil war. He shared with us the history of Teen Challenge Lebanon's early days and put us in touch with those brothers and sisters who were involved in the vision of bringing Teen Challenge to Lebanon.
Teen Challenge Lebanon reached out internationally and Kevin Tyler, Bernie Gillot , Douglas Boyle, Fiona Fallon, Catalin Baciu, Tom Bremer, Dr. Jerry Nance, Shane Van Meter and Brice Maddock all helped, and continue to help in their area of expertise.
Now that Teen Challenge Lebanon is launched, and since Lebanon is a key location for ministry in the Middle East and the Arabic-speaking countries, we hope to assist other Teen Challenge ministries.
